What is PUK?

A personal unblocking key (PUK), sometimes called personal unblocking code (PUC), is used in feature phone and 3GPP mobile phones to reset a personal identification number (PIN) that has been lost or forgotten.

Most mobile phones offer the feature of PIN protection. After switching on the phone, if the PIN security function is active, the user is required to enter a 4-8 digit PIN to enable the phone's non-emergency calling functions. If the wrong PIN is entered more than three times, either the SIM card, the device, or both become locked. They can be returned to their original unlocked state by entering a PUK provided by the mobile service provider, after verification. If the wrong PUK is entered 8 (eight) times in a row, the device will become permanently blocked and unrecoverable, requiring a new SIM card

PUK code can be got in different way i.e. 1) calling BSNL customer care number 2) sending SMS 3) visit near BSNL customer care office.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has customer care number 1800-345-1500, 1503, 198 and 9400024365 for 24X7 hour, call to this number and ask for PUK code.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has started a new service to get PUK cone by sending SMS to a number in a given formal.

Example: PUK <19 digit SIM number> send to 53733.

In every city have so many BSNL customer care office. Visit to BSNL customer care office with you blocking SIM card and they will provide PUK code to you without any fees.         You can send SMS from any network mobile, but have to enter the         PUK code on that blocked SIM card.

      From BSNL mobile network, the incoming and outgoing SMS are              free, but from other network it is chargeable as per the operator            charges.

vHow to get PUK on SMS without SIM number?

     There is no possibility to get PUK code through SMS without 19 digit       SIM card number or IMSI, if not available, just approach BSNL               CSC/Franchisee center to know the SIM number or to get PUK.
